Open Beta

The day of Reckoning is at hand! It has been a while since it was announced and I'm later with this news on the site, but better late than never, right???

On the 7th of September The Open Beta will open up. And just like Closed Beta The Black Banner will be there, if not with a greater amount of people. As the Bells of War announce our marches into the Lands of the Empire, many things on our side are changing as well.

Tzeentch is not just a fantasy God, but also emphasizes a bit what the guild is. Constantly striving to adapt and staying fun for its members. Therefore a couple of announcements are to be made:

Our "highly trained" staff of drunk students and other lowlifes, such as snotlings, are making work to create a new site for The Black Banner. More info will leak out later as plans are better visualised.

Our memberlist will be swiped of longterm absent members on release, but they will be reinvited through a fast way if they happen to return after the cutting and beheading has come to an end (provided they didn't got decapitated in real life). These are but few of more changes.

Nonetheless, the OB download is available, so head to war-europe.com and prepare for the sounding of the horns and the battle-chants of the Black Banner, because you will hear those a lot the coming days.

Bugged forums

As you might've noticed, our forums are currently bugged and can't be entered by clicking the link. However, there's a short-term solution to it. I can't currently fix it as I'm away during the 14th to the 21st.

So here's how to fix it: If you click on the link it gets opened as http://theblackbanner.mygameguild.com/http://theblackbanner.mygameguild.com/forums.asp

Change this to http://theblackbanner.mygameguild.com/forums.asp

It should work by now, even by clicking the link.

Problems with posts

EDIT: Hmm, it seems it's sorted now. :)

You may have noticed that numerous posts on the forums are now incomplete for some reason. We curently know only that there has ben a hacking attempt on our hosts, and that it's affecting all their users. We currently don't know what's being done to counter it, but it seems that any posts made now are appearing in full, we should be fine now, and we'l lkeep you updated as soon as there are developments. :)

With the increased applications of US-based players, we noticed the lack of knowledge that we're actually EU-based. This is mostly my error by not highlighting it. Note that we're accepting US-situated people, if they're willing to import the game and live with GOA.

Trophy-system

From today on, the Black Banner introduces the trophy-system. This system is nothing special, allthough it encourages players to do things. The trophies can be seen as awards for certain behaviour or actions, which you can get through being involved with the guild. It has no real influence at all, it's just some fancy-stuff for good teammates and members. The first trophy is for members who've been stuck with us for a quite a while, it is awarded when the Command feels you deserve it. We have a low bar of requirements to give out the Mark of Tzeentch. This symbol tells other members that you're a older member and have been with us for quite a while. This trophy is easy to get, all you need to do is to be loyal and involved. Other trophies may be given by the Black Command for players who achieve some notable deeds. For instance, if you are part of the group which slew the Bloodthirster, you may get a trophy called "Khorne's Bane" to show you've done this feat. Currently it's conceptual and experimental, we do not aim to get elitism in the guild, but we'd like to help our members show their worthy to others. More trophies are added in due time and given out with the blessings of the leaders. The trophies can be seen in the 'memberlist.' So, all I have left to say: Good luck, Black Warriors!
